Tranmere Specialist Supported Living Scheme

Tranmere Specialist Supported Living Scheme

A Flagship Supported Living Scheme in the Heart of Tranmere

The Tranmere Specialist Supported Living Scheme is a flagship development for Positive Impact Care Group, created to offer high-quality homes and structured support for adults with:

  • Learning disabilities
  • Autism
  • Mental health support needs

Located in the heart of Tranmere, the scheme provides quick access to local shops, green spaces, transport links, and community facilities. This combination of a calm, well-designed home environment and strong community connections helps people build independence, routine, and confidence.

This is an Adult Social Care commissioned service, developed in partnership with Wirral Borough Council. The scheme has been designed around local need, shared priorities, and clear outcomes for the people we support.

Thoughtful Design, High-Quality Homes

The Tranmere scheme is set within a beautifully restored period building, blending original character features with modern, high-spec finishes. Every space has been created to feel:

  • Warm and homely
  • Calm and predictable
  • Practical, safe, and easy to navigate

The overall layout supports people to live as independently as possible, with the reassurance of a skilled staff team on site.

The scheme has been designed for five individuals, each with their own self-contained accommodation and the option to use the communal areas as much or as little as they choose.

Accommodation Overview

Main Building – Three Spacious Flats

The main building provides three large, self-contained flats, each refurbished to a high standard. Every flat includes:

  • A contemporary fitted kitchen
  • Bright, comfortable living space
  • A well-proportioned bedroom
  • Private bathroom facilities

Layouts are designed to promote privacy, comfort, and independence, giving each person their own front door and personal space while still being close to staff support and communal areas.

One-Bedroom Bungalow

Alongside the main building is a one-bedroom bungalow, ideal for someone who would benefit from a quieter, more contained environment.

The bungalow offers:

  • A fully self-contained, single-level layout
  • High-quality fixtures and fittings
  • A balance of independence and safety

It is particularly suited to someone who may find larger or busier environments overwhelming, but who still wants access to staff support and the wider scheme when needed.

Three-Bedroom Coach House

The scheme also includes a modern three-bedroom coach house, providing flexible accommodation for different support arrangements.

Key features include:

  • Generous room sizes and a contemporary finish
  • A manageable, homely layout
  • Space that can be tailored around individual needs and routines

This makes the coach house ideal for people who benefit from living alongside others, with the ability to shape how shared and private spaces are used.

Communal Spaces & Shared Living

The Tranmere scheme benefits from two large communal spaces, carefully designed to support social connection, shared activities, and relaxed downtime.

Each communal area includes:

  • Comfortable seating and a homely décor
  • Large TVs and media access
  • Dedicated cooking spaces for shared meals and activities

These spaces are used for:

  • Group meals and cooking sessions
  • Social activities and film nights
  • Informal catch-ups and day-to-day social contact

People are supported to choose how and when they use communal areas, maintaining control over their own routines and boundaries.

Support Model & Staffing

Support at the Tranmere scheme is delivered by a skilled, values-led staff team, committed to person-centred practice and positive outcomes.

Our approach includes:

  • Consistent, reliable staffing to build trust and stability
  • Support that is tailored around individual goals, preferences, and needs
  • A clear focus on building independence, not dependency

Staff are present where and when they are needed, but the scheme has been designed so that this does not compromise privacy, dignity, or the homely feel of the environment.

People are supported to:

  • Build and maintain daily routines
  • Develop practical skills such as cooking, cleaning, and budgeting
  • Access education, employment, or volunteering where appropriate
  • Engage with local community resources and activities

Commissioned, Collaborative, Outcome-Focused

This development represents the standard we aim for across all Positive Impact Care Group services:

  • High-quality homes with thoughtful, practical design
  • Environments that truly feel like home, not institutions
  • Support that helps people thrive, rather than simply cope

By working in partnership with Wirral Borough Council and other stakeholders, the scheme is closely aligned to local needs and priorities, ensuring that people receive support in the right place, at the right time, and in the right way.
